A Millionaire's First Love is a romantic tear jerker movie. The story line centers around Kang Jae-Kyung an arrogant and very handsome, but much of a slacker guy whom just inherited his father's fortune. Jae-Kyung who just turned 18 is living on top of the world until he is told about a clause in his father's will. The only way he will recieve his father's fortune is if he finishes high school at Boram High School in Gangwondo, a town that was dear to his late father. If Jae-Kyung does not succeed in getting a high school diaploma he loses all the money or if he resigns he will only recieve 0.1% of the money.

Of course Jae-Kyung does not take this very well, but has to go along with it if he wants to recieve the money. As Jae-Kyung is dealing with this new problem he comes across Eun-Whan an independent young girl who Jae-Kyung mistakes as an bagger. Unknown to him, Eun-Whan is facing serious problems herself. While Jae-Kyung is having a hard time adjusting to hi s new surroundings, his relationship with Eun-Whan is becoming closer.

Is this common girl breaking through his superficial heart? Is Eun-Whan keeping a secret from Jae-Kyung that may affect their relationship? And will Jae-Kyung recieve his father's fortune? or Will he value something much more important than money? A must watch to find out more about this beautiful love story between Jae-Kyung (played by Hyun Bin best known from My Lovely Samsoon) and Eun-Whan (played by Lee Yeon Hee). A story similar to an American movie called Love Story starring Ryan O'Nell.

A Millionaire's First Love presents the cliche story about a girl and a boy falling in love…again. However, the catch is: the girl is soon to die and the boy is soon to lose his inheritance.

Hyun Bin plays the arrogant millionaire who would soon lose all of his grandfather's money unless he graduates from some unknown high school in the suburb. Lee Yun Hee plays the innocent school girl who doesn't know her mother and father and has a terminal disease. They both meet and fall in love and discover that they have met years and years before. The story goes on to how they cope with Lee Yun Hee's hovering death.

What is disappointing about this movie is not only the typical and overused plot, but it is also how the writers and directors cultivate the story. There are many many movies and dramas out there that have the seemingly boring and typical plots but manage to pull themselves out of the stereotype with how they develop the stories. Truthfully, at first, this movie is quite intriguing. The pairing is a bit unusual and fresh. Unfortunately, as the movie unfolds, it becomes clear that this is just another tear-jerker wannabe movie.

Having said all of that, I have to bring some positive points to focus. The actors. Hyun Bin’s days as Sam Shik in My Name is Kim Sam Soon have long gone. His acting improves significantly and it matches well with the aura of the movie. Actress Lee Yun Hee also shines. She can ooze the innocence persona very well and make it believable. When you see her character, you would not think that she is a celebrity because she is able to look so simple yet still sweet.

All in all, this movie is good enough to fill out your spare time if you absolutely have nothing to do. And, set aside the fact that it is very much typical but look for the bittersweet interactions, beautiful setting, and of course the hotness of Hyun Bin.

This movie starts off with Kang Jae Kyun, an incredibly rich and spoiled 18 year old, who is waiting to inherit his grandfathers company and assets. Because of the situation he is in he has no need to succeed in school, so he doesn't try. This causes him to become an arrogant player, who is good at fighting and drinks a lot. But, as he almost inherits his riches, his lawyer informs him that for him to be eligible to his money, he must attend and graduate Boram High School, in a secluded part of Korea. At Boram high school he meets a girl named Choi Eun Hwan. As he works to attain his money from his grandfather, he falls in love with Eun Hwan. As these two become closer tragedy strikes, when Jae Kyun learns that Eun Hwan has an illness. But, at this point he is willing to do anything to help her. But, even give up his fortune? Watch to find out.
I think this is one of the greatest korean movies I have ever seen. These two actors portray the movie very well and makes the movie seem like it is really happening. I highly recommend this movie to anyone who even has the slightest interest in Korean movies.

The arrogance of the rich are truly expressed in this movie. Hoping to get an inheritance from his multimillionarie grandfather, the main characters has to go back to his hometown. When he does he meets his first love. At first their past relationship is not revealed until they fall deeply in love.
Sadly, there isn't a happy ending. Although the movie seems like a comic one in the beginning, it is revealed that the girl is dying. With an uncurable disease, she has her last moments with the man she loves. When the girl dies, and all is done, the main character realizes that money was not all to life. He finds love to be all he needs. But what else has the girl left behind? And does he get the money?

I thought this movie was heart wrenching. Very beautifully made and it shows the innocence of love and the corruption of money. I give it four stars!

For those who ever seen the drama's of My Lovely Kim Sam Soon, must really know, the lead actor in the drama, Hyun bin. So, from many feedback and demand, girls out there must truly hope that there will be more romantic drama or film for Hyun Bin.. There...now come out this movie "A Millionaire's First Love". With the element of romantic comedy and touching heart love story, this drama for sure can attract a lot's of viewer and audience.

This movie was really make me truly more addicted by the act by Hyun Bin. he is talented to act in any character especially when touched in romatic comedy. The story have a good attraction with those two combination of hyun bin and lee yeon hee. The plot of the story is quit interesting and yes, the cinematography are really catchy for me this time. The scenes within are enjoyable to see.

As for a whole that we can see in this movie, is that the reality value of true love and sacrificing of a young man to rip out the life of young useless playboy bachelor, into become a heartwarm romantic young lover. I have seen many korean movie before, but this movie is the best. the movie is easy to understand, simple scene but complete and pack of messsage. This movie was really putting me within as i'm like in that drama... OMG, Hopefully man those out there can become like Hyun Bin....

I always watch dvds coz im a movieholic but when i ran out of dvds i borrowed one from my friend.she lent me this korean dvd, a millionaire's first love and i was so cynical about it because i had never been big on korean movies. I was so dissapointed with my friend for giving me this dvd and so it had rested on a pile on my table for the longest time.when i ran out of movies to watch again i turned to that dvd and with no choice left, i watched it and I WAS FLOORED. It was so beautiful. I suppose the story was a little bit of a cliche but it had a different twist. The combination of arrogance and good looks of the guy paired with the innocent sweetness of the girl is a breath of fresh air. Most asian movies with arrogant guys have tough girls as well, but in this movie, she was tough but in a different way.The acting was excellent, with just the right emotion. I must say i give this movie two thumbs up. I fell in love with this movie and it started my addiction to korean movies. I had stereotyped korean movies as corny but now, im a self-confessed koreanaholic.Right now,im browsing the net for more korean movies.

The story of this film, they say, is cliched already. In fact, it is! But what sets this film apart from those movies I've seen with theme similar to this, is that, it doesn't only provide a distinct impact that puts anyone into EMO mode. It has a moral content like other Korean Films are known for... A film I can add in my collection of love films like Moments of Love (Dingdong Dantes, Iza Calzado, and Karylle) and The Reader (Kate Winslet, Ralph Fiennes, and David Kross).

the plot of the film is very repeatitive.there is nothing new abt the plot.one can easily track the story but the scenes are shot with a greatness.the feeling of love showed in a charming way.....

the emotional scenes are far better then A WALK to REMEM.....

so.....a must watch for couple...and also for...who lost their buddies....
